Audi introduced their R8 LMS in 2015 as their GT3 class car, replacing the highly successful R8 LMS Ultra. As usual in GT3 spec cars, an “Evo” amendment is made 3-4 years after the car is introduced, resulting in the 2019 R8 LMS Evo. Despite aero changes to the front and rear the car remains instantly recognisable.
Belgian powerhouse WRT return to the 2019 10 Hr of Suzuka where they placed a strong P4 only one year before. This time however they win the race outright, taking P1 in a historic Nogaro Blue livery.
Nogaro Blue is a special color that Audi Sport reserves for limited-production models, first used on the RS 2 Avant to celebrate a pair of victories achieved by Frank Biela in an Audi 80 race car on the Nogaro circuit (aka Circuit Paul Armagnac) during the early 1990s.
